The Comeback Issue
The clock’s still drumming and humming and our cold dinner leftovers with the addition of the distilled water stand still, yet I can tell something changed within both of us.
we’ll be ships in the night passing each other without a sigh, without another blink of an eye.
perhaps it is not much of anything, not in such a loveless world during a loveless time.
just lemons given to life
a passing glance, fleeting thought
left behind in a grimace.
it all sprouted from the time you named me best friend
Ambitious girls do not falter. They do not hesitate. They do not pause. The world is empty, waiting for their footprint.
She lives in the creation of her own ambience,
lights are lit and dimmed when needed.
If you drew a line between me and mine, it would be blurred at the edges and strong at its center.
I think that is what time does
The pandemic brought forth many things, most of them tragic in nature. For some, there has been a silver lining so vibrant they have been able to self-reflect. I have been fortunate enough to have this time to reflect in a rather unique way.
Whoever said, “college will be the best years of your life” clearly did not live it during a global pandemic.
