Just as in other forms of media, the western/mainstream fashion industry is quite lacking in Asian representation. And, as the mainstream media has a history of doing when trends started or initially popularized by POC explode, they tend to not give credit where credit is due, you know what I’m saying?

At the time of writing this (February 18th. 4:37 PM ET.), yet another anti-Asian attack has taken place. This time in New York City, where an unmasked white man shoved a 52-year-old Chinese American woman into the concrete so hard she hit her head and passed out. She needed stitches but is safe, the perpetrator since arrested by the NYPD. But collectively, the sense of unease still rises.
