This issue came to being because of Jameela Jamil. Her push against detox teas and airbrushing reminded me of all the lengths we go to so that we can meet insane beauty standards: and I wanted to hear about what standards Asian women had to meet, and what they did to themselves for that.

So, thank you Jameela Jamil. You’re the pushy, relentless celebrity girl crush we all need.
