Ainori Love Wagon: Asian Journey
Everyone deserves a great love story they can share. Some people wait for it while finding it unexpectedly and other people might go on dating apps such as Bumble and Hinge to search for their true love. There are people who’ll go on TV to search for their love for society to see. A picture of the Bachelor franchise might pop into your mind, especially since it’s popular in the U.S.
I’ve found a TV series on Netflix, Ainori Love Wagon: Asian Journey. This reality series is in Japanese but there are subtitles so you can learn what’s going on in the show. In the beginning, it’ll introduce certain people for the show and all of them came together to build a pink van.
In the Bachelor franchise, there are more than 20 guys and girls vying for affection. Ainori keeps it simple and sweet since there are seven strangers who will travel throughout Asia to find love. You can tune into their love lives while getting to see how locals live in certain Asian countries.
In the first season, the bus drove through various Asian countries such as Vietnam and in the second season, they drove through countries such as India. I wasn’t expecting Vietnam to be their first stop and it made me happy to see Vietnam being broadcasted, especially since I am a Vietnamese and Chinese Asian American. It’s always amazing to see not only your culture being represented but other Asian cultures as well! Plus, we can imagine what it’d be like to live as a local through this show. Also, you can learn facts about the country so it’s educational too.
Everyone’s personality on the show is so bubbly and cute that you can’t help but bring a smile to your face! If you’re ever having a bad day, this show can get you laughing again. Do you remember when you were younger you’d have pictures of your favorite bands, movies, or photos of your memories plastered on your wall? There are a lot of polaroid pictures in the van of couples to get people inspired.
These strangers get on this “love wagon” to find love among each other. If someone feels so strongly for another person they need to get a ticket and then give it to the other person. If the other person says yes, they’ll go back to Japan together to continue their relationship. If not, well one of them will be heartbroken. This show can be intense but it is light-hearted as well. If you’re not sure if you need chips or tissues, get both and be prepared to fall in love with the contestants themselves.
