Too Many Roses by Aria Mallare

Too many roses
Uprooted from the soil
Sticking out of the ground like a garden of spears
Their stems cut short
Heads cut off, thorned and sharp
Ready to strike
Too many roses
Blossoming into weapons
Their twisted leaves strangling the trigger
Too many roses
An ocean of blood red
Sitting on rows of rectangular boxes
Too many roses
Uprooted from the soil too young
Cut from life in a temporary beauty
Too many roses
Left to wither away
