Red Pearl of Wisdom

Ever since I can remember, I was told that the pomegranate was a symbol

To represent those who could bring children

A red pearl of Sacred wisdom that in many communities has begun to dwindle

A key part of this teaching was the respect that should be had

Not for the seeds but for the shell that encased them

We should never treat it bad

Today as our rights have been stripped, I think of this teaching a lot

No matter what, we should fight

We should protect our rights no matter the cost

This is for my siblings who have had their rights violated

Medical resources denied

We will not stop until this injustice has been initiated
