Editor’s Note
Dear Overachievers,
Welcome to the new year.
We’ve implemented quarterly issues since Q4 2023, and I’m grateful for the support and positive feedback.
This year has already come with significant challenges—the Los Angeles fires, snowstorms across America, a political shift in the USA—and it’s been difficult to remain optimistic.
I am pregnant and am expecting my baby any day now. Since I was not able to find help on the executive team, Overachiever Magazine will continue at limited capacity. Which means that we will still publish quarterly themes and issues, but we cannot focus on social media outreach and team projects at this time.
We will not open applications for Spring 2025, but we welcome all to contribute to our magazine and apply at a later time.
This decision comes at a challenging time, where political tensions are rising and I don’t believe that immigrants of the LGBTQ community are the problem. We need artists, poets, and story tellers now more than ever, and Overachiever Magazine will continue to hold space for those who find themselves at the intersections of HAAPI, women, and LGBTQ identities.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business.
