 Overachievers Wanted

  • Passionate about uplifting others and willing to contribute their skills and talents to the OM team

  • Creative, inspired, and empowered self-starters who have wild dreams they want to make a reality

  • Supportive of other peoples’ wild dreams and respectful of other peoples’ stories in our community

  • Responsible, professional, and kind to others, is always learning from each project or conversation

  • Open to new opportunities to develop their talents in a way to help build their professional resume

  • Overachiever Magazine is an online community space that is dedicated to amplifying voices and providing opportunities for all AANHPI women and gender minorities. Dedicate your time and skills to our organization while developing excellent experience for your resume.

  • First, we highly suggest that you draft your personal statement on a blank document to edit. When you are ready, you may then submit your application using the form below. Complete the form and copy and paste your personal statement into your submission. Include links to your resume and portfolio. Attachments will not be accepted.

  • To uphold the mission of our organization, Overachiever Magazine will reserve all opportunities for members of our community—meaning that you must be an Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander (or partly) woman or gender minority in order to apply. We apologize to all others, but thank you for wanting to support our community.

All internships and volunteer positions are unpaid and remote, so a strong desire to contribute your time and skills will be necessary, along with great communication skills. What we can really offer is a valuable learning opportunity for you to develop your skills and build your resume.

Internships will occur over the span of fall or spring semester (4-5 months) and the goal is for interns to complete a project that gives them exposure and experience in their field of interest. Internships can be completed for school credit if it is approved by your institution.

All positions are voluntary. We estimate it takes about 5-15 hours of effort each week to make a great impact in your role, but we also understand that life happens so we do not enforce mandatory hours of participation. All we expect is for active team members to excel in interpersonal communication and ask for help if help is needed.

Deadline Extended

Deadline Extended

After carefully evaluating the needs of the team after the Spring 2024 application window, Overachiever Magazine has decided to extend the deadline for the following key positions: Development Director, Editorial Director, Social Media Director, and Activists. We acknowledge our need for better team leadership and we hope to do better at responding to current events, and so we are looking forward to meet prospective Overachievers on a rolling basis. Please note that you must have a strong portfolio to be considered for a leadership position and submitting an application does not guarantee you your desired position.
