“You are not a casualty for sharing your story. You are a fighter electrifying the world with your veracity because you never know who needs your warmth, your illumination and your intense audacity.”

The fundamental concern in civilization can be simply entrenched in the double standards enforced upon women by societal standards. The conviction that pride is paralleled to chastity must be eradicated. Some women are empowered by nakedness and others by modesty. The foundation of her empowerment is exclusively her conclusion. A woman shouldn’t have to be diffident to be prized. Women shouldn’t be told how to dress but men must rather be taught not to rape. Rape culture is a conception that simply propagates the philosophy of female subordination. In a nutshell, rape culture is victim shaming women for being ‘too drunk’ then guarding a man by stipulating that his actions were influenced by liquor.  Ninety percent of rape is caused by a relative not an apprehensive man in an alley. An outrageous fact of the 21st century is that matrimonial rape is legal in India because it is widely believed that matrimony is consent. Such laws propagate female subservience and underscore male governance in modern culture. Women are often considered the acquiescent gender whose fundamental purpose is to bear offspring and fulfill the compulsions of her gent. Taking this outlook into contemplation, it is still commonsensical to still cogitate nuptial rape an uncivilized desecration of a woman’s body. If being a housewife is an occupation then wouldn’t martial rape constitute workplace harassment? It merely makes the insinuation that females are not safe before or after marriage and that those closest to us can create the deepest scars. Rape is one of the most callous acts on earth and it is committed numerous each second. The principal issue is that rape activists are predominantly concerned with teaching females how to safeguard themselves instead of concentrating on teaching men not to rape. The foundation of the problem must first be eradicated. The misconception that must be heightened across culture is that there is no shame in being a sexual survivor and all shame lies upon the attacker.

I believe that this dispute can be eliminated simply through education. If our daughters are taught safety then our sons must be taught permission. Females are consumed by shame. We are raised with the archaic dogma that the sole purpose of our actuality is the gratification of man. Close your legs, cover yourself. We are made to feel that simply being born female is a encumbrance. There exists an impermeable fortification that occurs around sexual violence and female subsidiarity; and we must all play a dynamic role in breaking this wall. We populate a culture where a female is not safe in the womb nor out of it. Shouldn’t our core concern in civilization be to respect the sex that is the solitary reason for our entire being?

Feminism isn’t about making women stronger. Women are already resilient. It is about modernizing the way in which this power is perceived. We are not feminists because we dislike men. We actually love and respect men. We are feminists because this respect and love is often not reciprocated.  The fact is that your outlook will be unconditionally acknowledged as long as said opinion does not disrespect the opinion of another. For the majority of antiquity, anonymous was a woman hence we must teach our daughters less about fitting into glass slippers and more about shattering glass ceilings. She must want to spend the rest of her life with herself before a man.

Maya Angelou eminently stated that you may not control what happens to you but you can elect not to be reduced by it. We must learn to be audacious and deliberate for our self-aloud. The fundamental aim of the #metoo undertaking is merely for women to think of themselves as nouns and not adjectives. An enormous part of women’s liberation is giving women the prospect to make choices that you wouldn’t essentially make for yourself. A feminist is simply a person who believes and advocates for the influence of women just as much as they believes in the supremacy of another. Feminists are not here to command to you. It’s not authoritarian and narrow. All they are encouraging is a choice for us.  Its impartiality and justice and it’s a groundbreaking crusade to pioneer because our lives begin to end the day we are hushed about things that matter.

It’s a blatant illogicality when rape is vindicated by characteristic anthropological compulsion but then when woman is antenatal and wants an abortion, she is told that she should have refrained from sexual activity if she didn’t want a baby. No woman can consider herself free unless she has complete control over her own body. Women who have abortions do so because they value life and they take very earnestly the innumerable accountabilities that come not just with labor but fostering a human being. Being pro-choice is basically trusting the individual to make the true decision for herself and her family, and not trusting that resolution to anyone wearing the power of the regime in any respect. Criminalizing abortions simply encourages unsafe abortions. In a contemporary society, women’s body are more delimited then guns. The painful truth is that abortion is never a choice and prominence must not purely be placed on the right to abortion but on the right to confidentiality and procreative control.

I will never understand why it is more reprehensible to be raped than to rape. Rape is about forcefulness, not sex. If an individual hits you with a spade, you wouldn’t call it horticultural. Rape is a more atrocious crime than manslaughter as the prey dies throughout the period of life. Our lives begin to end the day we are shushed out of fear. It’s satirical. Legislation is implemented. Guards positioned and cameras activated. Women are told we are now safe yet the pocket gun and pepper spray in our purses dictate an alternate reality.
